The hole appears cauterised, as to be expected from a high-energy weapon. The hole is quite precise, too... there are signs of impact, which would imply that the beam is not that of a laser (since light has no mass with which to impact). I suspect a particle beam of some kind, since neutrons, protons(NOT electrons), etc... have mass and generate sufficient heat to cauterise. This is a fair bit of concrete evidence to support the case.

However, The gun is unlike anything I am familiar with, even as a Vegan/Sirian Starseed. It is likely an older model... That's what my intuition is telling me.

The trunk of the tree is cauterised... and stright... it looks like an impact as well, meaning it can't be a laser beam. What it CAN be and is most likely is either a plasma or particle beam. Light has no mass, so it cannot impact. But a plasma or particle beam can be shot in a straight line, is intensely hot, glows brightly, has a visible beam in broad daylight, and slams into a solid object, burning and boring its way through in a fraction of a second... assuming this weapon's beam intensity is high enough to kill. The one thing that feels off is the shap and form of the gun itself. I remeber a past life long ago among the Lyrans and they had a variety of directed energy weapons, but this model is a new one to me... either that or an old one that I had never encountered. One that comes to mind is a stick about 30 centimtres long that can fire a continuous particle beam, dense plasma bursts, electromagnetic stun pulses, and could be set to extend to 2 metres as a staff-like melee weapon. It's called a Force Lance.... similar to the one seen in Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda... which I feel easily took inspiration form the real thing, albeit with some slight theatrical differences. Anyway, this photo is legit, regardless of what naysayers think. The damage done tot he tree is the "smoking gun" so to speak... no pun intended.
